Full Reline of Masonry Chimney

Flue damage is the most common reason we fail a fireplace system. This is the best way to keep your open masonry fireplace.

Contractors and home builders today rarely build these traditional masonry chimneys and fireplaces anymore. They are very susceptible to damages, and are very expensive to build. Texas and Oklahoma homes are known for having foundation issues, therefore cracks, gaps, and holes are constantly found in the masonry chimneys we inspect here.

This way, you can continue with your open masonry chimney, and not only is it safer, but it will last much longer before needing more repairs.

If you are wanting to keep your open wood burning fireplace, we would most likely demo your current flue tile, and install a wide metal liner into your masonry chimney; and then we would parge a smooth cone to the liner from above the fireplace.

This Metal Chase Cover will last much longer than that thin cement crown they had prior. Also the liner comes out of the chase 2”, so any water that isn’t blown into the liner will pour off the chimney.
